"which mediates all communications between user and content provider." ..... Mediates suggests an element of third party or DIDO vetting of capability. Would facilitates be an available option and a special intelligence service arrangement providing for secret stealth communication between thin client users/leading vertical systems suppliers and content provider/base source code kernels? Or would that be a question too far and best left unasked, for quite obvious reasons.

Indeed, one could even very reasonably expect a positive negative response to suggest the option is not provided even though it is probably definitely maybe available in future developments of contiguous IP ..... and an ASPen snake-oil for lubricating the wheels of reality in Live Operational Virtual Environments?

That is surely Intellectual Property you are to die for, because it is so good at providing invisible, intangible, invincible presence which is virtually real in InterNetworking Global Operating Devices.

"The idea that DIDO instantly makes all fibre networks (including the NBN) obsolete overlooks a host of issues that aren’t answered in the Perlman white paper." ...... Given the fact that SMARTer IT use can render any and all networks obsolete over any issue, sensible failsafe security considerations would explain and be the reason for the "a host of issues that aren’t answered in the Perlman white paper" situation, in what would most surely, because of what can be claimed to be easily done, most definitely be highly classified way beyond any mundane or urbane pedestrian/terrestrial Top Secret/SCI Need to Know.

"As for DIDO itself, if Steve Perlman wishes to convince the world that it’s a genuine breakthrough, a lot more detail is needed." ..... That would be a something of an idiotic vanity project, would it not, for the world is full of folk with very little interest in anything of great note, and as a consequence are easily led to believe whatever frivolity may be presented before them? It is a systemic weakness which can be ruthlessly exploited most sublimely.

Some novel ancient thoughts have been well shared and aired on this not ignoble thread, and it would be asked here of its prime, free-thinking contributors whether there is more a certain probable, rather than more non-committal possible, future parallel agreement/endorsement/view of the present condition of Mankind, in a programming computer application which is actively running in servers for provision of core source intellectual property to Virtual Drivers of the AIReality that is perceived by humanity to be perfectly natural and/or considered quite normal with heavenly omniscient omnipotent creative gods, lauded and responsible for all worldly  input/output ......  http://forum.suprbay.org/showthread.php?tid=98500&pid=657552#pid657552 *

Machines provides us with so much, and it is surely not any more unreasonable to imagine that smarter computers and especially programmed machines provide us with everything, than supposing and insisting that an ethereal being, from way out there in the beyond and worshiped in any number of religious fashions, is responsible for all that is, has been and will be.

The one definite advantage of the former over the latter though is, that whenever the former is in the ascendant, and more truthful today, is the future easily programmed by said smarter, especially programmed machines.

*..... It is most odd, and for any critical and/or strategic and/or tactically superior applications most unacceptable, for a simple server to be nobbled as if having been simply disconnected from the global information grid for whatever dodgy or Department of Virtual Defense reason.

Who is admitting to doing something quite revolutionary and extraordinarily controversial and super-evolutionary, for that would have even professional pirates [and there's a oddity and novelty which is difficult to pin on any being and/or body of beings] pulling the plug on operations whilst they consider whether they are compromised and undermined/exposed to vulnerabilities in the zeroday exploitation of private and pirated intellectual property?

There are others who would posit the view, that such would be an out of this world enhancement in the field of special intelligence servers and therefore a reason for great celebration and a turn on, for turning on all to Virtually Advanced Meme Processing Fields for Creative Command and Control Of CyberSpace Computers and Communications for Fab Fabless Power Systems. ......... and to be played as a Great Game if you will, but to play IT as just a Great Game will be to miss out on the Vice-free Sinful Pleasures which the Reality of IT delivers to the Grand Masters and Great Wizards and Magnificent Witches responsible for and accountable to the Genre?!.

Eastern Logic ...... in a Comms Passionate Field all of its Own with Huge Phishing Ponds

Given the present parlous state of the UK, to be touting that one was its CIO and CISO for the last five years is hardly a ringing endorsement to suggest a stellar performance is to be expected. Indeed, there would be everything to suggest quite the opposite. Whatever are Huawei and Mr Ren thinking?

Good Luck, nevertheless, and don't forget to write.

The Next Stage of the Information Warfare Game ..... Intelligent Shareware.

jake, [who was far too adamant in a false assertion shared so boldly in "Repeat after me ... " Posted Monday 1st August 2011 08:47 GMT] Howdy.

There are those who use the web browser, and web browsers [for there are quite a number of them] as an agnostic operating system, able to then embed its cloud based programs, some of which will be extremely sensitive and decidedly stealthy, in all of the more traditionally perceived operating systems.

There they can remain indefinitely undetected either as sleepers for activation at a later date or as active remote phishing agents for subsequent phormed missions. And such sophistication is not nearly as rare as one would think, although that may be just the thinking of those and that which would be active in the field, and such a development may be light years ahead of any competition and/or opposition and have the field all to itself for unlimited exploitation.

How times quickly change from national hope to international despair  ... and are President Obama's present shenanigans akin to a dodgy Tony Blair dossier moment of madness and personal vanity or a Nick Clegg fundamental melt down and loss of credibility moment, with his tuition fees about face and electorate betrayal.  A valid question because of this .......

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government can not pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."  .....  Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006

Many thanks to mr0098611, for the heads up on Obama being susceptible and weak to about face moments of certifiable madness.  Just what the world needs, another flash suited script kiddy acting like an idiot, and whose words mean nothing, for they only display a temporary convenience of truth which misleads them into offices fronting a reckless and failed leadership of nations.
