"This is the elephant in the room..." - either entered the Room quietly on fingertips while others were sleeping, or had the WallS built around while he was sleeping, appears to be an amazingly strange animal.

An outstanding pseudo-emotional performance by Dylan Ratigan, emphasized by the onscreen banner "POLITICAL PANIC" - whether Dylan is a pro-rep or pro-dem, I smell a "bear". A mathematical Irish.

A hungry elephant broke from the city zoo at night. We know elephants as peaceful and quiet animals, so nobody noticed him escape, until an Old Lady, who woke up because of a strange noise in her garden, saw something extraordinary in her backyard and picked up the receiver.

- Good morning, Sergeant. Look sir, there's a giant grey rat in my backyard, and he's picking up cabbage with its long tail!

- And what does it do with the cabbage?

- Sir, you won't believe it!... ..... Posted by 4irw4y on 08/10/11 02:55 PM
That was a very apt metaphorical tale [the giant grey rat with its long tail] for most all current APT* situations, which are all smoke and mirrored with mis and disinformation which permits them to proceed with media spin delivering its crooked late news and dodgy views, which become ever more increasingly difficult to present viably as being the truth, for of course, the truth it is not. The present being delivered is an abomination of the truth to satisfy the programs and pogroms of the past and its status quo partners and now, in these virtual worlds of instantly communicated thoughts, their lost-in-this-new-space-place leaders. And the simplest of constant questionings of the reasons for whatever is proposed to be done, will always very quickly reveal the true truth or unmask the owners of the lies and tales being told as the virtual reality which the massed audiences are to follow ..... as mindless sheep/little expendable robots.

And whenever one realises that cabbage is a euphemism for folding currency and flash cash, is that glorious allegory of yours, 4irw4y, even more remarkably astute. Bravo. And I wonder if the Bank of England are aware of the nature of the beast in their garden or of the rat.... shady or otherwise**..... that feeds on its fare and has digested and might enjoy its core protocols?

And DB, the presentation here ..... http://prezi.com/wdqab38lxr89/three-cyber-war-fallacies-usenix-2011/ ..... is as good an intro as you are ever likely to get, to the new field of elite power command and control as you would report upon.

Sorry amanfromMars but I have to disagree. If you insert is for in then the entire list that goes on ... becomes what bothers him the most and that does not make sense. Everything in the world he lives in cannot be the one thing that bothers him the most. In all of that there must be one thing that bothers him the most. That is the thing I am interested in hearing about. Thanks for trying to solve the problem. It was a valiant effort.

As to the other I might suggest that any mind that is closed to the supernatural cannot be accurately described as open and broad. It is rather like cutting off one of one's legs in order to run a marathon. .... Posted by David_Robertson on 08/10/11 05:29 PM
An open supernatural mind will always be in control of/bothered by everything in the world, Dave, ergo it/everything can be that one something which bothers a thinking mind. To suggest otherwise would surely be to not imagine that the supernatural is available for use oneself, personally, and that of course is a nonsense, because it most certainly is, isn't it?

It is though not any great secret, for it has been well documented and expounded by all manner of strange and popular means and memes throughout the history of time and space, with this particular one springing immediately to mind, because of its simple dynamic brevity and popular host voice ..... Imagine and it's true ....... http://triumphpc.com/johnlennon/index.shtml

11 out of 10 for Dave Aitel, CEO of Immunity, for one real slick presentation with that slide show.

The Irregular and Unconventional Virtual Space for Conflict Resolution and/or Global Revolution

Thursday 11th August 2011 06:50 GMT

Perhaps you can understand the sense being made in this post which didn't make the El Reg cut yesterday, Kirbini, and that had me wondering on whether it exposed and/or proposed attack vectors on a much larger entity/adversary.
IntelAIgent Space Ware for Great Intellectual Property Head Games.......... AI Battles for the Hearts and Minds of Virtual Machines

Wednesday 10th August 2011 04:56 GMT

"As a developer, there's no better source of tools and reference material than MSDN, and who-am-i-to-judge-the-cloud, but Azure delivers exactly what I expect of application oriented future." .... Gleb Posted Wednesday 10th August 2011 00:14 GMT

And that, Gleb, is Microsoft's fundamental problem to solve, and most easily with an immediate hire of new global thinkers who would be also orderly tinkerers ....for Azure should be delivering totally unexpected future oriented applications which all others will be bound to, and be sublimely led to, because of the excellence of their applications programming/bigger picture projects with Cloud Controls and Clouds Hosting Advanced Operating Systems Control, follow and support. And yes, all that it takes for global control of all systems, is one single server streaming smart semantic source supply to simple webs and complex networks, which for virtual master pilots of the Internet, flying sorties with intelligent payloads for delivery into search engines and onto browsers for exploitation of corrupt and perverse weaknesses and systemic vulnerabilities, are one and the same and a completely different novel field in which there is no viable and effective competing destructive opposition.

Such is a part of what NEUKlearer HyperRadioProActive IT is all about. I Kid U Not.

And it is well worth a ponder to have a wonder on what is an undeniable fact and an immaculate truth, that your maintenance of disbelief which would dismiss and/or ignore any or all of the above, both virtually and practically guarantees that it stealthily succeeds beyond its wildest dreams, and most certainly way beyond any of yours.

And for that would we be most grateful. Thank You.

Great Game Muscle ..... Raising the Stakes into Quantum Cosmic Levels of Play

Posted Thursday 11th August 2011 06:32 GMT

Err.... excuse me, but with regard to the slide [available for viewing here, http://prezi.com/wdqab38lxr89/three-cyber-war-fallacies-usenix-2011/] which reads ....

"Three Fallacies:

1. Cyberwar is asymmetric

2. Cyberwar is non-kinetic

3. Cyberwar is not attributable

Why do security groups think these things." .... does the presentation break down and extraordinarily render itself null and void whenever security [cyber security] groups don't think those things.

And "Aitel saved his most biting criticism to challenge the notion advanced by a chorus of renowned security analysts – Bruce Schneier and Deputy Secretary of Defense Michael Lynn by name – that the fundamental characteristics of the internet and critical infrastructure allow a handful of well-trained operatives to wage guerrilla warfare campaigns against much larger adversaries." just simply reveals that Aitel do not have the intellectual capacity or property to deal with, or provide, a handful of well-trained operatives able to wage guerrilla cyberwarfare campaigns against any and all adversaries, for that is the current fundamental characteristic of the internet which challenges critical infrastructures to provide SMARTer Security Intelligence Services.

http://forums.theregister.co.uk/forum/1/2011/08/11/cyberwar_fallacies_revealed/

And Dan Goodin in San Francisco, was "IntelAIgent Space Ware for Great Intellectual Property Head Games.......... AI Battles for the Hearts and Minds of Virtual Machines" vetted and moderated to quarantine from sight because of the attack vectors it exposed/proposed in a much larger adversary. Thanks for the confirmation which must always surely accompany the non appearance of freely shared views in wider public fields.

Yeah, that is quite common with methamphetamine abuse.
