I would imagine that their accuracy rate would drop rather radically as the pool of programmers they're trying to identify increases. After all there are only so many ways to implement a given function. …. sisk

It looks like they left out something about the the compilers and assemblers microsoft uses.
If I remember correctly they have hidden functionality to identify who used them.

;)

... or they might have had a hidden functionality to run dynamic identiifiers

:-) Oh what a wicked web they weave when first they practise to deceive. If one is not led honestly with truth cascading over followers, is reality a sub-prime virtualisation program and Great AI Game Project gone catastrophically wrong.

I am pretty sure last time I used MASM I found it modifying the output.

Try this to see:
Download ollydbg www.ollydbg.de
download MASM package www.masm32.com

create a simple hello world (or anything).

Now try loading that executable into ollydbg.
It will will issue a warning.

Like I said before, I think I am telling the truth.

And as for visual studio:
LARGE amounts of identifiers embedded into the code.
Like I said before, I think I am telling the truth.
